Senior Financial Analyst – 1 year term opportunity

Scope:

The Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide analysis, reports and recommendations with respect to the EFC’s financial and insurance requirements.  Key responsibilities include: analyzing financial, statistical and economic data, leading in the development of strategies and programs that contribute to EFC’s producer compensation and insurance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer at EFC.  Responsibilities include:

Project and Program Management

• Manage the design, development and execution of assigned projects

Research and Analysis

• Subject matter expert on government compensation programs
• Prime contact for provincial boards for national insurance programs
• Assist with facilitation of national provincial meetings for insurance task group
• Perform analytical activities relevant to producer compensation programs

Knowledge Management

• Perform environmental scanning tasks to assess the relevant industry trends both in Canada and the US for disease risk in poultry

Other duties may be required from time to time depending on operational requirements

Qualifications:

Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant work experience and an accounting designation, preferably a CA or CGA.

Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be results-oriented
• Proficient financial skills including methodologies and techniques
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Ability to apply logical and evaluative thinking to problem identification and resolution
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English and French for the purpose of completing daily activities would be considered an asset

The following qualifications would be considered assets:

• Knowledge of agriculture business trends
