Our client is currently seeking one (1) Senior Accountant.  This is a permanent opportunity scheduled to begin in March.  This position reports to the Regional Financial Controller, Canada.

The Regional Finance team for Canada operates from Calgary and consists of operational, commercial and strategic finance professionals.  This is an excellent opportunity for a recently designated CA with three+ years’ experience who is looking to move into industry.  This unique position exists for an ambitious and motivated individual to join a highly regarded public company.     

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the regional finance team with process improvements, accounting clean-up, and other projects related to the upcoming Oracle implementation;


• Manage statutory records;


• Frequent interaction with head office ;


• Liaising with numerous divisions;


• Produce a consolidated balance sheet;


• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by management;


• Assist with special projects and ongoing system improvements;


• Reconciliation, analyses, and verification of accounting information in connection with internal monthly management reporting, quarterly and year end financial statements and management discussion and analysis.

Skills and Qualifications

• CA designation;


• Strong technical skills (experience with Oracle and Hyperion considered an asset);


• Positive attitude; exemplifies a “can do” attitude;


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;


• Professional attitude and a desire to grow with the company;


• Ability to respond quickly, propose insightful solutions and work with multiple executive-level stakeholders is critical;


• High energy, good communication and a team focus will be required for this fast-paced, highly dynamic business environment.
