Job Description
|
The Information Technology Office (ITO) is a full-service IT provider to over 12,500 users in 25 government ministries and agencies. The Office supports over 34,000 computing devices and 750 software applications on a cost-recovery billing model that sees over $55M in invoices issued annually.
The ITO is seeking a highly-motivated, conscientious leader to be the Director of Finance reporting directly to the Deputy Minister and acting as a member of the ITO senior executive team.
In this role you will provide advice to management on financial planning, management, reporting, controls and analysis. Leading a team of financial analysts you will develop and monitor financial plans and services, provide direction on acceptable internal controls and procedures to ensure financial resources are protected. You will also implement and manage financial forecasting, reporting, billing and cost recovery processes for the ITO service delivery partnership.
You will have knowledge of government financial, budgetary and legislative processes and policies. Using strong conceptual and collaborative problem-solving and relationship-building skills, you will facilitate and negotiate solutions to complex issues among a diverse range of individuals. The position demands the knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (for both Public Sector and Private Sector entities), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and the ability to interpret recommendations and directives issued by the Accounting Standards Board and the Public Sector Accounting Board.
To quality for this position the successful candidate will typically possess a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) or equivalent combination of education and experience as a financial and business manager.
