Job Description
|
Central 1 is seeking an Associate Vice President, Financial Reporting to oversee its Financial Reporting, Treasury Operations and Treasury Accounting functions.
The AVP will be responsible for the preparation of Central 1’s public financial statements and internal reports, taking a leadership role in the conversion to IFRS. In addition to providing effective overall direction to the financial reporting team, you will build its technical strength, promote the development of team members and develop service standards in regards to internal and external clients. You will manage the process of accounting for financial instruments and treasury products to meet accounting, regulatory and legal requirements and through your continuous professional development you will keep abreast of changes in accounting standards to assess their impact on Central 1’s operations and financial statements.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a complex financial reporting environment. A thorough knowledge of financial instruments and treasury products, including accounting for them and their impact on financial statements is essential. You possess excellent analytical and diagnostic skills and have been involved in successful integration and change management following a merger or acquisition. IT application selection and a background in a regulatory environment are also required as are strong presentation skills and a professional accounting designation.
