Senior Manager, Accounting Policy
Our client – a financial institution - is currently looking for a Chartered Accountant with a strong technical background to get involved in reviewing and providing direction to changes in the current accounting environment. You will be the key driver in monitoring changes to Canadian, U.S. and IFRS accounting standards and provide analysis to assess the overall impact to the company.
In this role, you will provide advice on financial and reporting matters to all areas of the company on specialized transactions including its’ subsidiaries. Provide guidance and direction to questions with respect to accepted accounting principles, acquisitions and/or unusual transactions.
Work with the various standard-setting bodies such as the CICA, OSFI, OFC, FASB and SEC (etc) in co-ordinating the implementation of new accounting standards. Maintain and update any financial disclosure documents as required.
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with 5-10 years of experience in financial reporting within a financial institution or public accounting firm.
