Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment is seeking a highly motivated and proactive professional to assume the role of Internal Auditor in Regina. This position will provide accounting, internal control and program administration guidance to senior management in the Ministry. You will be responsible for internal audits of programs within the Ministry and external audits of key ministry agreements. You will also be involved in conducting Ministry wide financial risk analysis which will be used to determine which programs and key agreements will be reviewed by this position as included in the annual audit plan. It is the responsibility of this position to conduct reviews of financial and program management procedures and structures and provide corrective actions when necessary to ensure that financial and management control processes are in compliance.
Knowledge of current audit trends, internal control frameworks, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and best practices will be critical to the success of this position.
The competencies required for this position would typically be obtained through a degree in Business Administration or Commerce and a professional accounting designation, supplemented with previous internal audit experience.
Travel throughout the province to conduct work activities will be a requirement of this position.
