MANAGER/SENIOR MANAGER – SPECIALTY TAX
The Opportunity Being a Tax Manager, you will play a vital role in providing excellent advisory solutions to our clients. The key to your success will not only be building - but also maintaining -client relationships. Additionally, you will identify and develop new opportunities for additional tax services.
This position will include:
- Leading team members on various tax advisory projects;
- Advising clients on tax minimizing strategies;
- Planning opportunities and compliance issues;
- Taking on new tax venture opportunities;
- Liaising with other members of the tax and assurance team on various tax advisory projects;
- Coordinating and monitoring the tax department's compliance with internal control procedures;
- Ensuring compliance with income and capital tax policies for the management of tax issues affecting the organization;
- Preparing and/or reviewing of correspondence with clients and government authorities and file documentation thereto; and,
- Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.
The Candidate
The successful candidate in this role will have:
- A CA designation (other designations with experience may be considered);
- Public Practice Accounting experience;
- Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course and a minimum of 3 to 4 years of direct experience;
- Experience on compliance issues for public or large private entities;
- Experience with tax provision review;
- Experience with provincial and federal filing and compliance requirements;
- Excellent Leadership and Management skills;
- Broad exposure in many different business industries;
- Expertise and interest in Tax and Estate planning;
- Previous experience mentoring junior staff;
- The ability to work as part of an effective team; and,
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong client relationships.
